Initiatives

The BoP Innovation Center facilitates sustainable innovations in base of the pyramid (BoP) markets. These innovations aim to increase the wellbeing of low-income people and are market-based. The projects that we engage in follow our BoP Innovation Cycle. Our projects are focused on one of our key sectors and specific success factors.

The list is constantly being updated as the BoP Innovation Center enters into new partnerships and launches new initiatives. Our current incubator space looks like this:

BoP Innovation Cycle

Developing innovation at the Base of the Pyramid requires a specific approach. The innovation goes from identifying an opportunity to bringing it to scale, following iterative steps. All innovation projects that the BoP Innovation Center facilitates follow the BoP Innovation Cycle. The role and involvement of the BoP Innovation Center in the innovation process varies depending on the stage of development.
